Presenter: Dr Emily Lowthian, Lecturer in Education in the School of Education, University of Swansea, Wales, UK Description: This webinar will provide an overview of research concerning parental substance use and children’s educational outcomes. First, we will dive into understanding what over 50 years of research can tell us about parental substance use and children’s educational outcomes. Next, we will consider what substance use patterns and dynamics exist across parents. Lastly, the webinar will touch upon how parenting and the family environment could be an explanatory factor between parental substance use dynamics and children’s educational outcomes
