Interests: Jacqueline Carhoun is a PhD student at the University of Sussex in the UK, where her research employs a collaborative co-production approach to explore the experiences of families and loved ones impacted by the opioid crisis in the UK and British Columbia (Canada). Her work seeks to amplify the voices of those affected and contribute to developing a meaningful resource for the families impacted by this ongoing public health challenge.

Biography: She holds a master’s degree in Neuroscience and Psychology of Mental Health from King’s College London, where she developed a deep understanding of the biological and psychological underpinnings of mental health conditions.

In addition to her research, she teaches undergraduate psychology seminars in both Canada and the UK. Her teaching focuses on neurodiversity, mental health, and developmental psychology, reflecting her passion for fostering understanding and inclusion.

Her professional experience includes an internship as a mental health counsellor in an elementary school, where she supported children’s emotional well-being, as well as roles as a peer supporter for neurodiverse populations and individuals with eating disorders.
