Addiction: It’s a Family Matter. Who Cares? Brighton Fringe Festival

Date: Wednesday, May 20th, 2026 at 6:30pm

Location: Friends’ Meeting House, Ship Street, Brighton

Join AFINet founder member Jim Orford and poet/writer Christine Hollywood for a thought-provoking evening at this year’s Brighton Fringe Festival, exploring addiction through the eyes of family members.

Through autobiography, fiction and poetry, the event brings to life the dilemmas and emotional uncertainty faced by those whose loved ones are struggling with addiction, drawing on a rich range of voices from contemporary writers to classical authors. It shines a light on a side of addiction that is all too often overlooked.

The evening closes with an open Q&A and panel discussion, with family members sharing their lived experience and information available about sources of support.

Tickets are £10 (concessions £5). We hope to see you there!
